63% of people apparently agree with The Sun that Labour has “lost its way”, but only 29% agree that only “the Conservative leadership can put the great back into Great Britain”. (Yougov, 01/10/09)
More evidence still that perhaps it's less that the electorate understand and agree with Tory principles and more that they're desperate to give Labour a good kicking for having been quite frankly a bit shit of late?
For last 18 months it's as if the Recession surges into the box, Gordon Brown in goal slips over and fall down. The ball's squared to Cameron who has an open goal to kick the ball into over and over again and instead he's started doing kick ups.
Such is Labour's unpopularity he could force through any agenda he wants to, and would come to power with a surge of support to do whatever he wants. Instead, he's just decided to bide his time, not say anything stupid, and wait for the inevitable
Come on, you're better than that.
