1 1/2 hours of masterchef last night. it was such a long stint that i couldn't tell you what happened in the first episode. someone won, there was some good food and bad food. someone put that monster crackin' stuff (or something very similar) as a accompaniment to a perfectly decent bit of barry venison.

was nice to have some decent-ish critics tasting the food in the quarter finals. that sour-faced old hag who normally does it wasn't on, instead we had jay rayner, an austin powers impersonator and someone who looked less like a food critic and more like an insurance middle-manager. ludovic looks like a star, the other guy who went through was pretty good too. poor hanna was a bit out of her depth with a stir-fry, might as well have made duck bolognese.

and buzzcocks? with james corden as host? a fucking abomination. a couple of his jokes actually elicited no laughter from the audience.
