They're all knobs. Fuck off.
if so they can fuck right off
I get on fine with everyone insofar as I have to... I just don't give a fuck what their kids did last week.
It feels like a ridiculous expectation... nobody has any problems with my work, or manner, or anything like that... I just have to "make more of an effort socially", like I should actively seek to make friends... i dunno, fucking annoying.
No-one likes the weird quiet guy who broods alone and makes everyone else feel uncomfortable. Are you that guy?
but I'm not.
Look around you, at real people. Then offer to make them a cup of tea.
It's a start.
yes all of you. All of you, you knobs.
But yeah, that's ridiculous asking you to be more social outside of work. I used to get it in the neck if i couldn't make dinners and overnight functions but that was to do with schmoozing clients so a bit more acceptable, but even then, I resent giving up my free time to spend yet more time with the people I already give the majority of my waking hours to.
it's a haven for socially 'damaged' people who work in corners labeling things
...in a place once, a big multi-national factory, and where most people were ok, a vast majority simply had no life outside of work. They were all shagging each other. Every couple of weeks there was an attempt to have a night out. I said once "I have to work with you, I don't have to drink with you".
That was the last time I was asked. Happy days.
i hate this. no thank you, i really don't want to spend my saturday afternoon at the bowling alley with everyone talking about the expense of their kids' ballet shoes. probably not even in ten years' time. but i'll turn up, do the job, make small talk when spoken to, then go home. just pay me.
oh noes. its £15
If so, they have to give some kind of criticism, so it probably means they couldn't think of anything to criticise about your actual work. I reckon you can get away with ignoring it. I imagine it is very, very unlikely they'll give you the sack for not going bowling/making enough cups of tea if you're good at your job.
but having said that, my work are paying for us to go to Thorpe Park for an evening at the end of the month.
I love rollercoasters.
