I've never quite dared, just seems wrong. Has anyone lived to tell the tale?
Though I'd just made it, so that probably doesn't count.
crumpets have to be cooked until they are almost, or even a tiny bit burnt.
the best crumpets are the ones are the already quite golden ones with the biggest density of holes, nice smallish holes.
crumpets are so so right but i've bought some really wrong ones in the past, now i take extra care to examine any crumpets on the shelf before i purchase them
maybe the only superior basic item
Waitrose 'essentials' crumpets are pretty good too.
Also, too many serious answers in this thread folks, I feel let down.
I don't think essentials and basics are on a par though. More like essentials and Sainsbury's own.
I haven't eaten a crumpet for several years. What's happened to me?!
P.S. Melted cheese on top or GTFO.
with a blob of ketchup or tomato puree underneath and a sprinkling of oregano on top.
it's just so good with a massive dollop of butter, it needs nothing else.
but i will have to try it with cheese now, damn you.
im not supposed to buy crumpets when imtrying to be healthy cos i end up eating atleast 4 in one sitting, if not the whole pack :i
Fuck being healthy. More Sophia = More goodness.
Do more drugs, too.
i will when i come see you in october!
but i also normally sneak one to eat raw, maybe its an aquired taste, but they're sort of 'rubbery' and i like that
was like eating a thick cold pancake.
