Consider that he survived that, and is now doing this...
Not only did he survive that crash, but he also races in the world touring car championship, and IIRC has won at least one race each year for about the last 3 seasons or so, using hand controld obvs.
He also went back to Lausitz and completed the 'last 13 laps' of the race he didn't finish in 2001, again in a hand controlled car.
I think his story needs to be more widely known, tbh
From what I remember he really struggled with reliability issues and had real trouble adjusting to the Williams, especially the brakes - he insisted on using metal disc brakes instead of regular (for F1) carbon discs.
He's a born racer... truly inspirational.
and wished that I died a slow painful death in a car crash. Also if you check you'll see that everybody agreed that you were wrong and that you overreacted. So if I was you, I'd stop harping on about it, it's water under the bridge.
both legs got severed just above the knees. well fucked up
"The technicians were trying to take out protective plates in the footwell, to expand the size - so I said, hold on a second guys, I'll just change my feet! So I went down from a size 43 (UK size 9) to a size 36 (UK size 3) - and that helped me dramatically"
His autobiography was the only motorsport one I've found genuinely interesting - such an inspirational guy, amazing attitude. I really hope he succeeds in it all.
