we had a horrible cat when I was a kid. She used to attack my legs if ever I ran to the toilet in the middle of the night. She was forever attacking/scaring the living bejesus out of people, and she particularly hated men.
Mum gave her away to someone who lived in the countryside and had more space. Apparently. Something like that's got to be better than having it put down?

i'm pretty sure he's actually un-killable. he wouldnt be able to get himself run over if he tried.
what is so wrong with this cat exactly?
i'll try to explain,
but please bear in mind that its very hard to get down in words how loathesome this cat is, and that every person who has ever met him has hated him.
ok here goes:
1. sometimes he tries to starve the other, smaller, cleverer, female cat.
2. he puts his head in the way when you try to feed him.
3. he waits by the front door to be let out, but then gets scared by the sound of you coming down the stairs so runs upstairs to hide under a bed, only to forget seconds later and just come wondering casually back down.
4. he stares at me all the fucking time.
5. his head is too small for his body.
6. on the rare ocasions when he gets affection he ruins it by dribbling on you or biting you.
7. he drinks water out of the toilet.
8. he thinks he's invisible. when trying to sit on your lap, you make it clear you dont want him, and he just continually tries to sneak slowly on to you. after 3 or 4 failed attempts he starts meowing at you as if he owns your fucking lap.
9. he always wants to either come in or out of the door. if he had his own way, you would be continually letting him in and out. yeah i know he should have a flap but its not my house.
10. his hair is neither short or long.
some of these failings are quite endearing
some aren't.

he was taken away from his mum before he could walk i.e. too early. and then he got catknapped for by the man up the road with 50 cats in his house...for 3 days (he'd only been allowed outside for a few days). he was never the same.

he turned up one day and stayed for 2 years, he was so stupid, had no understanding of basic cat politics, be nice to your owners occasionally when you dont want something to make it less obvious, he'd bite you one minute and be all nice for food the next, he did that annoying stampy thing, he would get cat food poured on his head because he was so impatient, he would randomly come over and bite me, he did the let me out/in thing repeatedly, he did this weird meaow loop early in the morning outside my door (im sure he calculated and adjusteded it in a precice way I couldnt get used to it and phase it out,)luckily he eventually moved onto some neighbours who asked if they could keep him before we moved, dont think they knew what they were letting themselves into, I kinda miss him though

It's certainly legal if no one else finds out about it, and ethics is such a grey area I wouldn't worry about that. When I was younger we put our cat down as it just could not be trained properly and would just do it's own thing.

unless you were to do it yourself.. in which case I think the cat can call you more than a bit of a dick.
