Apatosaurus? What kind of shitty name is that?! The Opera dictionary doesn't even recognise it as I type it into this box.
But I'd tend to think of 'em as Brontosauruses now, even though it's wrong.
The Diplodocus was my favourite sauropod anyway.
Though as a child I pronounced it Dip-low-doh-cuss and these days it seems people call them Di-plod-ick-uss, which doesn't sound as nice to me.
should rhyme with Hocus Pocus
I hate the Di-plod-ick-us pronounciation.
Brachiosaurus became the favoured term, didn't it?
If only I still had my Dinosaur! Magazine collection...
The Brachiosaur had an upright, vertical neck inclination and a distinctive crest/hump on the crown of it's skull. Up to fifty feet in height, I believe they were the largest vegetarian ever to walk the Earth.
I had no idea about this.
Not quite got full movement, but no pain and I'm back playing football again :)
to suggest that it's most likely they all had fur and/or feathers instead of scales.
Every dino fact I know is being sullied. I was talking to my nephew yesterday and I mentioned the brontosaurus, he knew what it was so it must still be in being taught but I was slightly worried it would be like I was telling him the world was flat.
the brontasauras is NOT a dinosaur. pretty obvious stuff theo.
"listen to the chorus. of the brontasaurus. one. two. THREE."
who's with me?
i think its a made up US word.
with a load of beasts that size, just wandering around. AMAZING!
