only been in there once when I was 16. Watched a band made up of dads playing to their wives and their wives mates. Looks like one of these "battle of the bands" places. The actual space is quite nice though. It's under a bridge if I remember. Oh well.
it's off jamaica street under the railway bridge. And they have an REM tribute band playing called "Are we them". Rubbish.
but you sound shit
plays host ot all sorts of shit rock bands and tribute acts
Rockers is one of the worst places in the world. I assume you're asking because you've been asked to play or some such association? Tell them to get tae fuck. They royally fuck bands over via pay-to-play scumbaggary and the venue is utter gash.
The guy who puts on most of the gigs there: CUNT
Oh, and not to mention the massive stench of sweaty ballsacks in the place.
STAY WELL AWAY.
out of interest what places in glasgow would you consider worthy of a 3 + hour drive to play?
Anything else is too small.
Nice N Sleazy is good in a slightly scummy way
are you coming to 2nd Hand Marching Band at Wee Red Bar next Wednesday or David Thomas Broughton at Sneaky Pete's the Wednesday after??
i've been after someone to go with for weeks.
i'm hoping to make it to the wee red bar but have a feeling i might be working til 10 :( hadn't heard about david thomas broughton either. we needz to organise that meet up aye.
I'm also going to 2nd hand marching band, obvs.
yeah. great stuff the bowery is back open.
we're doing a zine and everything. and to answer your second question... maybe, idk. depends how many people come and pay for it.
Glad you got the SHMB thing sorted btw :) unfortunately my girlfriend is not playing that gig, so you can't even do some kind of weird semi-DiS-by-association-perving. Also I should not write stuff like that because they all seem to find everything that is written about them on the internet and look at it and her brother is in the band too and he will get mad and start windmilling at me.
anyway i'm really looking forward to the gig now.
Yeah it should be cool. I'm still trying to sort out a job back up in Scotland, once that's done then I'll be able to come to midweek gigs as well as weekend ones :-O
its full of scenesters.
13th Note's cool, Captain's Rest and Bloc also.
Resist offers to play Box, Capitol and the Cathouse.
My personal favourites:
Sleazys - I just love it.
Captains Rest - small and sweaty.
Stereo - Not really sure what i like about it, I just do.
Honourable mentions to the research club, swg3, woodside social.
Gonna go back west for the last NPL/little league.
I cant find any info on whats on in the woodside social
It's at some place in the South Side.
