Isle of Arran: The Review

louise_ [Edit] [Delete] 18:47, 9 September '09

Brodick: Nice walks. Pretty sea, full of small dead crabs. Scary locals. The castle was OK though it was mainly victorian renovated which is pish when you go looking for the gloomy stone stuff. Tour of Brewery was not that inspiring until you got the ales at the end and wrangle as much as you can out of it. As with the free samples at the cheese shop. We went looking for a curry one night but got told that the Indians had gone. "Where?" "The Indians went back to the mainland, the hotel still does curries but they're not Indian."

Lamlash: Freaky futuristic public toilet that's probably actually been there since the 80s. Scary locals. We didn't go to the Holy Isle cause it was a tenner return. And the boat guy looked like he was going to roast and eat us. But his pal said we should try hitchkiking back to Brodick. Which doeasn't work when you look like a couple of scruffy hippies. We tried.

We failed at getting round the island because we didn't have a car and all the bus drivers looked like they were going to roast and eat us.

Otherwise, very enjoyable. 7/10
