can you still bowl whilst wearing gloves?
50-over cricket neither has the flair of 20/20 or the slowly-unwinding tension of test matches.
he was asked to stir up a bit of debate, but I won't give away their real name :)
Yeah, I agreed as well hence my reply. 7 ODIs in this series is absolutely ridiculous, talk about playing too much cricket.
as i understand it, than twenty20 is. i agree that it is a long way from perfect but there's enough time for batsmen to have to make decisions, and there's where pressure and tension come from. in twenty20 they don't have anything to think about except where they're going hoik everyball. take this game for example - australia have never quite fired. england haven't taken a lot of wickets but rashid bowled awesomely and australia haven't imposed themselves with the bat. they need a good last few overs or else the pressure will be on the bowlers. i reckon it'll be interesting..
personally, i think we need all three forms of the game, just less one day cricket - 7 odi's is far, far too many.
and why the first of seven ODIs is starting on a day where i considered wearing gloves cycling in to work is beyond me.
this odi series is too long and should have happened before the ashes. no-one really gives monkey's do they?
yes the series is to long, but in some respects it's up to the players to make the game interesting, and we don't really have the players to do that in this form of the game and neither do the aussies.
i also find it interesting how the first game of an odi series is almost the least interesting. cricket requires pressure and pressure only comes from maintaining a lead or chasing one. nil-nil is an anathema : )
