getting out of the new deal course at the job centre

rewolf [Edit] [Delete] 15:15, 4 September '09

hi. just wondering if any of you had experience with having to go on the 3/4 week course as part of the new deal at the job centre. I'm thinking its going to be really soul destroying, and its starting on monday. I've got a few options tho - first is to sign off today, say I've gone on holiday and sign on again in a few weeks. not sure if they will become suspicious and not allow me to sign on again, could be risky. second is to tell my advisor the truth, that the course would be a waste of time for me as I'm using my free time to set up my own label and record for other fairly big labels (ghostly, tokyo dawn), maybe they could give me some kind of reduced benefit, enough to live on each week. still, not sure how this would go down and whether they would force me to go on the course regardless. third would be to not show up and see what happens, or fourth would be go to on the course where I'd surely want to kill myself and all the others there.

which is the best option? any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated, I'm thinking I need to act today on this as the course is on monday.

cheers
