I'm an armchair football fan

eschaton [Edit] [Delete] 14:39, 27 August '09

It's great! I can selectively watch the good bits of top flight competitive football on telly (or on my computer, if I'm streaming motd) at my own convenience without having to waste my half my weekend traipsing to and from some stadium or other. I go to see one (maybe two, but usually one) match a season, which is more often than not an enjoyable afternoon out, but I always come away thinking, "That was fun, but would I want to do that week-in week-out? Would I balls".

And the cost! I save so much money by not going to see professional football being played live. It's quite expensive, even in the lower leagues where the standard is poor. You'd have to have more money than sense to regularly pay to go and see Premiership football being played! Plus watching on tv means you get multiple instant replays from almost every conceivable angle, and you don't have to deal with any slightly adverse weather either.

Being an armchair football fan is brilliant!
