An Edinburgh Fringe type thread...
Went to see Frank Skinner's Credit Crunch Cabaret last night - it's an hour and a half of his stand-up interspersed with 3 guest acts. Last nights acts were awful, good, then very good. First up was some nobody who didn't even have a show to plug - crap west country stand up. Second on were a comedy band called Axis of Awesome, who were actually pretty funny despite their name. Final act was stand-up Andrew Maxwell, who was very good - may even go check his show out...apparently he has his own show in Ireland. However, none of them were as good as frank skinner, who is one of the best stand-ups around IMO. His tv work is average to poor in most cases, but his skillz as a stand up are mighty impressive. Go and see.
Seeing Mark Watson and julian clary over the weekend...
