People who turn the kettle off at the plug because they're worried about wasting electricity: absolute cunts.
People who go out, locking the door but leaving all the ground floor windows wide open: absolute cunts.
or are they right and will be vindicated when i burn to death in a horrible kettle fire?
Switch on at plug >> Pop bread in >> Adjust number thingy >> Pop down
But there's nothing worse than flicking the kettle switch in the morning and coming back after a couple of minutes to find you don't have boiling water for yr coffee :(
IM A CUNT.
My head is hung in shame.
Might start a thread about it.
I only ring if I've just returned from a walk of over 5 miles distance/it is dark so the keys are well obscured. Probably wouldn't ring at an insociable hour either.
see you there
My housemate does this. I've let him get away with it so far because he's European where people just help each other out with little things, without any mouldering resentment.
I however, am English and this is not how we roll. I have decided on a more indirect tactic: Every time he comes home and knocks on the door rather than spend a little time going through the bag for his keys, I make him wait a little bit longer. When it gets up to about two mintues, I'm hoping he'll get the picture.
We did a similar thing to a prank doorbell ringer a few years back, only with the most disgusting combo of slop, ash, rotten food and piss. he soon got the picture!
What front doors are these where you don't have to have at least one key to gain entry?
regardless of whether anyone is inside or outside?
You have to lift the handle and then turn the key.
which is great as I never forgot my keys, lose them but never forget.
I'm not your son, not even your step son, you just sleep with my mum.
This is turning into a bad day.
Most have a keyhole. That you put a key in and turn to lock/unlock.
Is this another weird southern thing?
doors that when you pull them shut from the outside will lock automatically and then you need a key to open them, you've never heard of these?
If you have a double glazed/uPVC front door you'll probably have a 5 bolt device which will need to be physcally locked when you leave.
You can't get spare keys, you forget to lock them when you get home and then someone comes in and steals your shit, and if you have guests you can't let them show themselves out.
Plus you die in the event of a fire.
