i dont know if this is correct protocol when dealing with trolls. but it's kinda rare that the troll is a music journo whose righteous articles you used to lap up when you were younger.
i know some people here know me IRL and probably figured out i'm not racist/homophobic within about 5 seconds of being in the same room but i'm still mardily put out by such implications that because i use word x i must be y..
i dont use nigger in conversations cos it weirds me out knowing where the word came from and the connatations it has. but, like, really thats IMO and fucking irrelevant, it's JUST A WORD and so many people use it it'll hopefully soon go the same way as gay. right, i read that thread tonight and i counted. like, actual full on alanpartridge friend counted how many "niggers" and "gays" i was hasckually friends with. pathetic, yeh. and it struck me, these are peeps i see all the time and have done since liek ever. and this stuff has NEVER COME UP. and, i really dont think it's cos im white and hetro and opressive, it's because IT DOESNT FUCKING MATTER TO US. whatever novelty these people all had in their minority has long been overcome by important things like pavement reissues and getting extra shifts at work and moving out and falling in love and losing oyster cards. is that so wrong? i mean, i'm clearly not bill hicks, but isn't that the point?
anyway, fuck you everett true. to use yr heinous god analogy, i used to believe in you. because i thought you wrote cos you cared so much, it was like you needed other people to care to complete you. not cos you wanted to be a tastemaker superstar god journalist with a flock of lil indie alexei fanboys. i dont think you could tell the difference. i feel conned by yr prose. you come on here all the time and slag people off and start dramas and it has nothing to do with music or journalism, its just you seeking attention where you know you'll get it. there's like a half a dozen people on here whose blogs i read, so i'm sure theres dozens more. you should ask yrself why they don't feel the need to stir up cheap controversy every time they write something unconventional.
