Serious computer related problems, what on earth is going on? Can someone who knows more than me please help?
Firstly I started getting seemingly random "blue screen of death" situations to "prevent damage to your computer" once it's turned off and back on again everything seems fine except a message saying "you're computer has recovered from a serious error". Occasionally I'll turn my laptop on and it'll come up with the much more horrifying "black screen of death" and a message that sometimes says "no bootable devices" when I try and boot it up (you have to press 1) eventually it loads Windows again, usually after several attempts.
I just this minute turned my laptop on and a whole new error occured, this time there was a light blue background and a process that included "deleting index entry" and "recovering orphaned file", I haven't got the first idea as to what this means. The desktop is now back to it's original background and my internet history is gone but the programs I installed are still here.
What's going on? I haven't installed any dodgy programs or spilt stuff/damaged my laptop so why is it doing this all of a sudden?
I don't know enough about computers to realise whether this helps or not but I'm using a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop and Windows XP.
In between all the "serious" errors everything seems to be working perfectly well, it's very strange.
