Which is your favourite old-skool goalkeeping glove manufacturer?
they were always wet and soggy. yuck.
I think they were mitre. I was never really taken seriously as a keeper though, my reflexes were good but i tended to deliberately miss to spare my hands. Sondico gloves were ok, i dont really have any proper experience with reusch apart from seeing it in pictures
I saved up for months to get an £18 pair of Reusch ones so I could be like Peter Schmeichel. Even though his had a big S on them and were £50 or something stupid. Awesome gloves though.
I started out with those Sondico ones that were so cheap they only had sticky rubber bits stitched onto the fingers. Those ones were rubbish
I liked them because they were really flexible
I remember thinking the Fingersave ones were for wimps also.
i broke my thumb twice but i'd never lower myself to fingersave
When, about aged 5, I got an obsession with being a goalie. My dad got me a kit (Probably the best thing I ever got in my whole fucking life) and some gloves after me begging him for absolutely ages. I remember the padded shorts. They were the best of all.
There's a video still knocking about of me in the back garden playing football, my dad booting a ball at me and me falling about in a pink goalie kit punching the ball and generally being quite bad. Good times.
They were lovely.
i had the aqua-keeper ones that made the ball stick in soggy weather.....which was really handy playing on a sunday in huge slops of shit.....mud sort of dulls the effect
the glove of the Great Dane, Peter Schmiechel.
Of course, it's all uhlsport nowadays.
what a hero
The box had photos of David Seaman and Erik Thorstvedt on the back.
