jaggy jag jag - Second Hand Marching Band on Radio Scotland
My girlfriend (and, like, 16 other fairly inconsequential others) comprise The Second Hand Marching Band, and shall be playing a live session on Vic Galloway's show on BBC Radio Scotland tonight at 8-10pm.
Show 'details', such as they are:

Fresh from playing King Tut's on Saturday night with 17th Century and Beerjacket, they shall doubtless surprise, amuse, delight, confound and arouse listeners with their delightful blend of folk, twee, pop, group harmonies, and shaky fruit.
Catch them before their sheer weight of numbers causes them to implode in a swirling vortex of cardigans, accordions, and dodgy facial hair.

'other others'?
I am a massive loser.
So you like hairy girls with dodgy facial hair then?
Only in cardigans tbh.
we're trying to get them for our night in september
they're well good. no definite word back from them yet.
What and where is your night?
The songwriter / general band leadery type has been off on holiday for a couple of weeks and only got back recently, so might be worth sending him a gentle reminder.. :)
wee red bar in Edinburgh for Freshers week
hmm maybe i will
Oh cool
There's definitely been discussions on that actually, I think it generally revolves around how many people can make it to each gig! But it's not fallen beneath the radar, I had to check my girlfriend's emails for her the other day and there was some stuff about it there (but I didn't look at those ones so I can't give you any 'inside scoop'!).
cheers, thats good to know
i guess its my turn to do a sort of half-jag now
Second hand marching band! Wounded knee! Jesus H Foxx! All of these bands MIGHT be playing at the wee red bar during freshers week! It'll be cheap to get in and hopefully really good, and YEAH its aimed at students but anyone can come!
Paul Carlin is NOT inconsequential.
Please take that back.
Paul Carlin is NOT playing.
Being on tour with Dananananaykroyd and that.
True dat.
He is a nice chap though :)
I think my stepmum knows him
or knows someone who knows him, or something, because when she asked what gig i was going to that night instead of laughing at the band name like she usually does she told me the bill murray story and said her friend had the picture as her desktop.
Oh and free songs here...

How are things tomatron?
A bit hectic
Was in Boston last week, so I've got loads to catch up on. Trying to sort out a new job. Squirming out of meetings (I'm supposed to be in one now, although I was also supposed to be in Manchester today, and I got out of that too.. !). Considering buying a flat with my girlfriend. Trying to decide what I want to do job-wise, and if I'm going to return to study or do some Open University courses in my spare time. Generally being terrified.
:D
How about you?
Well it seem all go with you, well once you've decided what you want to do it certainly will be.
What was happening in Boston?
Buying a flat in Dundee?
Things are fine with me, just spending a lot of time with the good lady before she fucks off to NY. That and catching a few gigs in and about this fair city of mine :)
Boston was work timez
Lots of work, but also lots of beer and awesome food :D plus a friend of mine from when I lived in San Diego briefly lives there now, so we got to hang out. Hurrah!
We're looking at flats in Stirling, in the hope that I can get something in Glasgow, and then we can be inbetween (meaning we can actually get to Glasgow / Edinburgh for funtimes).
I take it you weren't at the gig in Tut's on Saturday then? What is your lady going to NY for? TO GET AWAY FROM YOU?
the ATDI
is one of the best covers I've heard all year, stellar work girls n boys
downloading the songs right now
cheers big ears
