So, Tarantino
More specifically, Inglorious Basterds. Is anyone genuinely looking forward to it? I don't know anyone who is. He's lost it, etc.

i am.
You wait with breath abaited?
- breath abated?
A bate of breath?
I'm very much looking forward to it.
Deathproof was pretty wank but not without its charms. The only genuinely bad thing he's done IMO is Jackie Brown, which was dull.
Also, he probably ought to just acknowledge that Eli Roth isn't anywhere near as good as he originally appeared to be.
You're dead wrong about Jackie Brown.
It's certainly no Get Shorty
Get Shorty is fucking brilliant.
But I think Jackie Brown is also a great film.
Get Shorty
is rubbish
Get Shorty was alright
Be Cool however is one of the worst films I have ever ever ever seen. And I've seen Van Helsing.
Christ!! Is it worse than..
'Knowing' & the 'Planet of the Apes' remake?
Van Helsing sucked balls.
I didn't have to see be cool to know that it would be a fucking disaster.
But Get Shorty is class, arguably Travoltas best performance. With sterling support from Farina, Hackman, DeVito and the gorgeous Russo.
Be Cool is horrendous
Get Shorty is great, Jackie Brown is even better
I'd take Jackie Brown over Get Shorty any day of the week.
Jackie Brown
is the only Tarantino film I like
Jackie Brown
is the only Tarantino film I've seen in the cinema
I'm looking forward to it.
I am a big fan of Tarantino and while some of his films can be contrived and style over substance, he still manages to have plenty of ideas that keep you interested.
My friend sat Inglourious Basterds at the Cannes premiere - the jammy cow!
Verdict "Its totally bitchin!" (she's american). It looks fucking great IMO!

I'm kind of looking forward to it
"Death Proof" was nonsense, but one of the main problems was that – while the first half was hell of stylish – it didn't have much of a story. As long as the plot for "Inglourious Basterds" is alright I'm sure it'll be entertaining enough.
That said, the fact that I'm just looking forward to an enjoyable yarn speaks volumes as to how far he’s fallen off.
Yeah, I got to see the whole american edit of Grindhouse at the cinemas
by the time it got to the long dialogue scenes in Death proof I was properly bored and tired. The trailers were by far the best thing in that movie.
But saying that looking forward to this one - especially as he has been forced to edit it down.
That last point's reassuring
There was so much pointless dialogue in Death Proof that should never have made it into the film. They were like bad parodies of Tarantino dialogue scenes.
Kill Bill part 2 was the same
that Superman speech was like he was working off a check list - "pop culture reference - TICK!"
Do you want to have kids?
If so, what kind of age do you think/hope it'll happen at?
?
Yeah, didn't come out
in anything like the right thread.
I can't think of the last time I looked forward to a film coming out

I think he was starting to lose it at Kill Bill
they should have cut HOURS out of that thing.
Did you see him on J.Ross? J.Ross actually asked a good question for once (about him using klassical music from other films instead of original stuff) and then they turned the answer into an awful comedy sketch. Cos he didn't give a proper answer.
Also the use of that noise from Ironside in Kill Bill has totally ruined Ironside for me I hope he's happy
Deathproof
is one of my favourite films to just sit down and watch, given a bad rap, but it's an entertaining film, and Kurt Russell is funny and sinister.
And, yes I'm looking forward to it, it was Tarantino's films that got me interested in films. I saw the advert on ITV last night and got really excited, which is rare.
i liked Death Proof
apart from some of the Tarantino does Tarantino dialogue in the second part. I liked the production design and stunts. Not his best but I would rather watch a QT film for cinematic entertainment than Transformers or the like.
I'm looking forward to Inglorious...
Tarantino is my all-time favourite director
I enjoyed Death proof, though hearing it was a Grindhouse homage, I expected something different. Robert Rodriguez managed to make a better Grindhouse film.
All the reviews I've read and things people who've seen it have told me, it's supposed to rival Resevoir Dogs. I did hear there was a 20-minute dialogue scene at the beginning though, not that it will put me off.
Really looking forward to it
Going to see at a preview on the 15th. Tbh the film itself doesn't really excite me, but I didn't think Deathproof would be and didn't go to see it in the cinema and ended up adoring it so I trust that this will be great too.
In regards to Death Proof, personally I think it's perfect, I love his dialogue and it *could* have had the best ending ever, had it ended after that last shot. If you see it more as a revenge film you get a lot more out of it I think.
i saw this film last night
it's brilliant, it flies by seeming much less shorter than the 2 hours odd it is.
The opening dialogue is great too, very suspenseful
I saw this on Saturday . . . .
. . . . it was fantastic, completely different to what I was expecting. A great underlying tension which builds and builds until the climax of each chapter. The funniest film Tarantino has made too.
I'm being genuinely swayed good word of mouth.
I'm off to see it :D
i don't think he's lost it at all
he's just tired of doing the same thing i guess. now, i'm going to assume here that you had death proof in mind when writing that. the endless self-referencing is fine, as we all saw the film only because it's tarantino anyway. and there's a difference between referencing and repeating. granted the second half of it was a big pile of wank, i took it as a big kind of "fuck you guys, i can do whatever i want". kind of like when stone+parker did baseketball.
FFS
I just did a search to make sure there were no duplicate Inglourious Basterds threads in the past week....and there was one on the fucking front page of the Social board. Sorry, didn't mean to hijack
you fucking bastard
Look how popular my one is as well
Storming the nation
No apologies necessary.
i don't know if i'm looking forward to this
i love reservoir dogs, pulp fiction, and i actually think that jackie brown is his best film, but kill bill was waaaay too long and self indulgent and deathproof was utter tosh
