a quick FM09 thread
I've become disenchanted with life at Eastlands following UEFA Cup, Euro-Super Cup and FA Cup victories in my first two seasons mainly thanks to the way insane inflation of transfer prices at the highest level (selling Woodgate for £38m? being forced to pay £41m for Modric? being priced out of buying a goal keeper at £52m and Pique at £60m?).
Breaking point came after not being able to buy any better defenders than my current - Lescott/Bridge Skrtel/Jagielka/Onuahu Johnson/Richards - set up.
So I have decided to take a midtable-ish Premier League team and try to fill it with as many hot young prospects I can from the home-nations.
but who should I restart my game as?
Newcastle are ruled out automatically for two reasons a) the game is patched so the starting point would be the squad that ended the season b) I already have an earlier save from when I first got the game and turned the Toon into Keegan-era style nearly men (albeit with FA and several League Cups to their name).
Who has a decently strong starting squad and the funds to do it?
Everton are too poor, Villa and Spurs probably have too much in-game expectation of instant results.
Fulham?
West Ham?
Wigan?
Pompey?
Blackburn?
