i thought he quit about 3 years ago?
And I read there were going to be 4.
But I also read that the next one forms half of a two-part story about a certain character's return ending in (I'm guessing) Tennant's subsequent regeneration into that new bloke.
So maybe the Christmas story didn't count and this is 2 of 4?
there will then be two more (a two parter) which follow on slightly from this one over Christmas/New Year.
possibly called The End Of Time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcQcaucYOc0
It's pretty crappy quality as it just someone's recording of it from Comic Con. Don't watch if you don't want to be spoiled about who is in it (although the BBC have since announced it all officially).
It is pant-wettingly exciting though.
I have a pretty good idea who's in it anyhow...
But it doesn't give anything away plotwise. As I say, the BBC have announced this all officially so I guess it's no longer considered a 'spoiler'. It'll be showed everywhere before the episodes themselves anyway so I can't imagine anyone would be able to watch them without knowing who is going to be in it.
Up to you though...
I looked. Lots of things I don't understand already...
And I guess lots of things which, plotwise, RTD will circumnavigate or explain away using a wormhole.
The production team have shown this trailer in public and it's all been announced on the website so they clearly aren't hiding any of this stuff.
Anyway, I hope you are not referring to who I think you might be referring to because she is the greatest companion ever (and that includes everybody from the classic series).
See some sort of medical professional.
She was mighty fine in Who. After that horrid Christmas Special, I soon grew to love her. And by her final bow, was starting to miss her greatly.
Probably the finest thing RTD will ever do; make me tolerate and grow to really like Tate.
Did you not think she was like, completely amazing? I was a doubter as much as anyone when she was cast, but honestly, she was just superb. I still get a bit emotinal when I think about her exit.
Her character was annoying and then changed to simply be boring.
As an actress her range stops dead at 'anger', which is a shame because she was often required to be 'angry'. Unfortunately this meant enduring her acting like someone fighting a bad case of constipation. Seriously, watch any scene of her being angry and you get a sort of clenched jaw and that's it.
That's before we consider she appeared to be older than her own mother (maybe that was nod to North by Northwest?). She was a better written companion than Freema's because they didn't try to shoe-horn in a fucking 'love' angle but that's about it.
until she started shouting (which she did a lot), then it was the most painful voice I've ever heard on anyone since I saw Joey Lauren Adams in Chasing Amy.
It was like watching a primary school kid in a play.
and I'm not really her biggest fan.
but the doctor/donna thing in the final episode undid all that and made me hate her all over again.
even cribbons amazing heartbreaking grandad character couldn't save her
and the Cybermen are about to leap down from airships...
I've never met anyone who didn't think she was anything less than amazing. Her performances in Forest of the Dead, Turn Left (the scene where she realises what she has to do in particular) and Journey's End were outstanding.
That beetle thing at the end was a bit shit though
and don't share RTD's obsession with boring people living boring stereotypical lives out of Eastenders. So much of that episode was just dreary rubbish and the rest was HIT YOU ON THE HEAD WITH THE SLEDGEHAMMER OF SOCIAL COMMENTARY.
Maybe it's because you're young and impressionable and I'm old and wise. :D
You're the first person other than me who I've seen express a negative opinion on her in Doctor Who. I remain increasingly bewildered :(
There are huge swathes of posts over at TheDVDForums.com of people hating her. In fact I think there are about 5 members liking her vs several hundred finding her insufferable.
Man, this is the greatest piece of revisionism since the Republicans decided to claim Ronald Regan stopped the cold ware rather than Gorbachev.
I seem to be surrounded by the Donna Fan Club perhaps.
I actually found her quite agreeable in the role.
but y'know Dr.Who'd up a bit
but the fact that that episode appears to feature the guy who was in the Yellow Pages ad years ago where he wakes up in his flat and there's loads of mess (you know, the one with the scratch on the table, the random other guy, and the tache on the painting) means I shall definitely be watching it. (he's at 00:008 with the torch).
