that memory has been completely buried in my brain somewhere
I was playing in this hardcore band...I used to play the drums in them.
One night, I think after a rehearsal or something, Singer was driving us back and mentioned that the promoter from The Red Eye (mental weird little toilet venue in Islington that's now been demolished I think) said to pop in.
So he parked his little white Fiesta and we sondered in...there was this band making a noise like Anal Cunt but with a big keyboard at the front...Remember the promoter being liek "This is The Locust - they're from America".
Remember it sounding pretty brutal.
guess they were more straight grind rather than the electronics-infused monster that they are nowadays. Plus didn't they have the full-on bug costumes back then?! Cool. GLUING CARPET TO YOUR GENITALS DOES NOT MAKE YOU A CANTALOUPE.
if I remember right
but we were called F.L.S - I was around 15/16 and we played with people like Stampin Ground, Pulkas, Vehemence, H2O and whatnot. Split 7" on Household Name Records!!11111
although we did once go to Northampton for an evening.
from the stuff i've heard, early locust isn't great.
still, very good story.
i'd love to see them now. hope they tour soon.
One of the best drummers I have ever seen. He plays guitar for Holy Molar as well!
