Our family had known him since before I was born. 56 is far too young to die :(
she's 22 and his son is 19 and he has a wife as well.
always try to remember the positives as part of mourning the loss, and try to stay strong for anybody who might need you.
all my love xxxx
but as always this site is broken. :(
i lost one of my friends just over a week ago
rips a hole right through the chest
it doesn't get a whole lot better, you've just got to remember the good times you had
my mum died in similar circumstances last month (unknown causes at 61, me and my sister are 27 and 22).
Obviously everyone's different, but my advice about what we found helpful, and what you might want to do for his family:
choose a nice card, not a 'sympathy card', and write nice funny memories of your friend in it. They'll get hundreds of anonymous purple and silver things.
offer to help with telling other mutual friends about the death and the funeral. that was the hardest bit for us.
don't be afraid to say anything - either stupid jokes, or things unrelated to the death, or to tell them how sad you are too. They're already sad, so nothing you say will offend them, and is more likely to cheer them up for a while!
