"did you show her the crown jewels?"
"she'd already seen the crown jewels...my bellend"
it was cringeworthy
but I don't think I could watch it with an open mind now as I've heard far too many shrubs quoting it ad nauseum. Which is a bit of a shame really, also it references a lot of places where I grew up which could be interesting. Maybe.
why are you only watching this now?
and when is the new one out?
Pretty sure he'd seen it before... :P
i thought it kinda meant every one you watch as in first one HA second one HAHA third one HAHAHAHAHA
have they learnt how to act/written a decent script/stopped blatantly stealing from recent sitcoms then?
it's a bit like hanging out with your mates, aged 16 3/4.
So occasionally funny, but occasionally cringeworthily hamfisted.
I watched five minutes of this last night while waiting for The Wire, and I have to admit...
...it's still the shittest sitcom ever made. I mean, for fuck's sake - how they managed to make an intrinsically hilarious concept as a 2girls1cup reaction scene into something that was about as funny as watching your mum get raped by Elmer Fudd will eternally be one of the Great Comedy Mysteries. Every tone-deaf line clunks to the ground; audible reminders of the fact that the show is written by (presumably) fully grown adults with the mental capabilities of the children they will ironically NEVER be able to write convincingly for - which is pretty appropriate given that at least two of the 'actors' delivering them are about 30, dressed in school uniforms.
And then you have the whole issue of it being aimed at and hailed by the kind of cretins who do verbal happyslaps at people waiting for buses, which is just depressing enough for two words - lifted direct from last night's episode:
and these kids drove past in a car and shouted SCARF WANKER
He came and told me, i think it must be because of the inbetweeners, he didnt get the reference.
I think it is funny, and i would definately watch it again, but its not up there with my favourites. Its like a young Peep Show.
although in saying that Peep show is waaaay up there for me.
I haven't seen the new series at all, but I HATE catchphrase comedy
Agreed - could it BE any more shit and lazy*?
*Chandler apparently only ever used this inflection twice. Every other time it was another character referencing how he allegedly always did it. INTERESTING, eh?
Speaking of: I get 'difficult difficult lemon difficult' now.
It was extra special for me because when it first came out, I did laugh, but I also thought "okay, it wasn't that funny - what the hell was everyone on about?'
Then a couple of minutes later...
At people at the bus stop. Im taknig this to be a Belfast 'wacky' version of it!
especially jay. every word is comedy gold
i saw friends earlier in the evening. it was my favourite ever episode. snot as funny as the inbetweeners tho.
One is 15 years old and shouldn't be on telly any more, one is one year old and shouldn't have made it on to telly in the first place.
*Neil playing the playstation* "I am...look football!"
My question still remains i guess...
that plays Neil's dad.
"IL GIV YE A BLOWJOB!"
IT SOUNDS BRILLIANT.
I'm in teh "Like" camp. Sorry, Stealthy.
Coming Of Age
The Big Bang Theory
How Not To Live Your Life
The Kevin Bishop Show
Horne and Corden
Katy Brand's Big Ass Show
Al Murray's Happy Hour
^^^ Please complain about shit like this before starting on Inbetweeners which is very well written and very funny. It's crude and immature but that is it's biggest strength.
Is that the abortion concocted by Lee Mack?
If it had better actors in it and not been so badly shot in a studio, it might have been ok. The scripts were very clever, just seemed like an early 90's programme in look and feel...
the best actors and sets in the world couldn't save that bucket of gash
Just typed it into google. Yeah I have the wrong programme.
Oh well. SOMETHING on TV at some point in the last year was kinda good in parts barring the actors and set. And potentially the script.
This may not be my finest sequence of DiS posting on reflection.
Anything else in that list that I ahve been unfortunate enough to see is so unfunny that it makes me a bit angry, and you can add Mitchell and Webb to that too.
I don't think not going out is not the best comedy on TV, but it is watchable and sometimes amusing. Happy Hour has it's moments too.
Thinking that the Inbetweeners is somehow in a different league to that dross is actually hilarious. Great work!
It's about the Inbetweeners. And the Inbetweeners isn't funny.
worst 'comedy' show ever.
I watched three episodes and didn't want to see anymore. The actors are awful, especially the 'geek' one, and the moments that did raise a smile were few and far between.
The bespectacled one is slightly shit. But it is good I swear. Have I ever let you down?
I don't remember.
it's the most consistently funny program for years.
because that's what I do.
you big boob.
with whatshisface the tall guy from mock the week
you're definitely wrong. He can't be funny.
BUT I like Hugh dennis. He's like a kindly dad.
Can do Jimmy Saville impression.
He's only been in awful things.
He was half of the rubbish half of the Mary Whitehouse Experience (I actually hated both halves of that anyway)
He was in that shit thing about the superhero.
He's in those insufferable smug radio 4 "topical" "comedies".
With that awful bald bloke and that dreadful scottish bloke and that kid that looks about 12.
BUT i actually preferred the Punt and Dennis half of the MWE and I like him and Frankie Boyle and the schoolboy on Mock the Week. I don't think he's a phenomenal comedy genius or anything and it's probably 10 years of high exposure to Radio 4 that's made the love grow but I'd rather watch 24 hours of "Hugh Dennis Gold" than 30 mins of the frankly insufferable Horne and Corden.
That's a low blow.
you must have icy blood
I thought better of you.
I bet you say that to all the girls.
I don't think that's taking it too seriously.
"nah, it's shit, cheers."
the internet is amazing isn't it?
second season tries a bit too hard
