Arsenal beat some Austrian minnows whose name I've forgotten 7-1, after going a goal down to a bizarre goal (apparently an Almunia clearance cannoned back off an Austrian player and in to the goal). Chelsea beat Inter Milan 2-0, with both sides fielding strong, if constantly changing, sides throughout. Drogba and Lampard got the goals. Stephen Ireland scored as City beat Kaizer Chiefs 1-0. There were other friendlies too. Tell me about them if you like.
Xabi Alonso is being linked with Chelsea and Man City. He's a cracking player (even though I personally don't like him) and think Benitez would get exactly what he deserved if he left, but I don't see it happening. Not to Chelsea or City anyway.
Beckham looks a bit fucked; he's keen to go back to AC Milan but Galliani insists Milan won't be signing him permanently, as LA Galaxy want 13m euros.
Phil Brown looks he'll finally get a chance to "feel proud" about buying a striker. Even one thats scores 3 goals a season...
