So then, is there anything happening in London on Saturday 8th August? (recommend me a good night out!)
Okay, it’s my 30th birthday in a little over two weeks (“30th?” I hear you cry, “but you look so young!” – yeah, I don’t really feel it at the moment…). I’m not really one to make a fuss, but quite a few people have been asking if I’m planning on doing anything to mark the date. A combination of workload, office move and flat-hunting has meant that it’s been one of those things that I kept putting off and never organising.
I’m basically going head out on the Friday (7th) and Saturday and say that if anyone fancies meeting up then they’re more than welcome to come along. Friday is already sorted, and I shall be going along to Miss Rosalita’s night to dance along to Italo-disco. But that leaves Saturday night. The Saturday’s a bit trickier, as it’ll be the night that my friends from home head into town. They’re not going to want to see any bands, they’re not going to want anything too avant-garde, but they will want to dance and drink and have fun. Soul/retro nights have always been successful, with things like Shake, Rattle and Bowl going down well. I’m thinking of either Keb Darge’s thing at Madame JoJo’s or International Hi-Fi at the Garage, but I’ve never been to either.
Are they good? Any other tips?
