right i'm a student and i went over my overdraft limit when some bills were being paid.

couple of questions

1) can i contest being charged £38? i've heard people saying its different for students but i dunno.

2) additionally, the main reason i actually went over the limit, rather than staying within my account when the money went out was that i am owed £40 by my housemate. as a direct consequence and despite me warning her up to a month ago, i still havent seen the money in my account. is it fair enough to say its her fault as i repeatedly asked for the money and told her that this was the case?
