Seriously, if you can then share your recipes with me. I tried for years to do this because people treated me like some sort of culinary pariah for daring to suggest you couldn't do anything half as good as a nice pasta sauce from a jar. Every attempt ended up tasting like warm tinned tomatoes with onions and some herbs.
Then I happened upon a recipe asking for passata and I realised THIS is what I should be using. So now I can make good tomato pasta sauces but passata's the only thing I've found to make it possible for them to taste good. Why did no fucker tell me about this stuff before? It's amazing. Fuck tinned tomatoes.
