food for which the inconvenience of making it does not justify the end product
(not quite sure how to put that more eloquently)
i would nominate cullen skink (smoked haddock chowder). Okay, it tasted lovely once it was finished, and I have a spare couple of portions for another day, but:
- i had to chop up 1 kg of charlotte potatoes into 1cm pieces;
- it took about 1hr 20mins to make (mainly due to my cackhanded attempts at removing the skin and bones from the haddock);
- the whole house stank of fish for most of sunday and the morning after;
- all this for a bowl of soup.
any other nominations?
