I so wish I had the intellectual capacity to understand this. I've spent pretty much the last week reading about it, including a very interesting book that sounded awesome and went entirely over my head. I officially hate everyone who's scientifically minded.
Anyhow, I hate the world for underfunding things like this. We might not have the materials for it now, but there's still so much work that could be done, and it would be the most incredible advancement you could think of. I mean, I don't think anybody could think of a scientifically workable thing more awesome than a space elevator. There's so many insignificant things governments are wasting money on that could go to this kind of thing. Like stop getting old people to live longer. It's so costly and stupid. If every government stopped doing stupid things imagine the money that could go to these kind of projects.
Anyhow, if anyone can explain all the details of space elevators to me in a way that doesn't just make me go "?...WOW!" then I'll totally marry them. Ideally in book, or audio-book form. Kthnx.
I LOVE SPACE I LOVE SPACE I LOVE IT SO MUCH. WHY WAS I BORN NOW STUPID EVIL DECIDES-WHEN-PEOPLE-ARE-BORN THING WHATEVER YOU ARE? IT'S THE MOST HIDEOUSLY UNFAIR THING EVER.
I wish those websites where you got internet users to give you a pound each for 'cause x' actually worked. I want to go to space so bad it's unreal.
I don't know why I'm about to post it, but you don't get an 'abandon' button down here, so what the hell. You can talk about whatever and let me spazz a bit more.
