So, I went to see this last night.

I am going to avoid my usual gush of seeing Johnny Depp act, needless to say he was pretty darn cool.

It's a middle-of-the-road effort with some shortfalls.

The good:
Depp's wardrobe
Tommy guns
Cool cars
1930s haircuts - I asked my girlfriend whether I would benefit from slick hair and she said "no".

The bad:
Bale and Bale's equally vapid on-screen character
Dialogue. It was difficult to understand or hear even.
Scatty story-line (too many characters, too many tangents — could have been concise)

Has anyone else seen it?
