Undecided myself, two pretty big nights in a row and need to recover i think.
I'm tragically late to the whole sopranos thing and have only just started watching it. I'm very stupid to have left it so long, i'm enjoying it a lot.
Big Brother and then I might see if I've got the energy to get up an put a DVD on.
Had one of the most soul destroying nights out ever last night, so after that, am contemplating not going out ever again.
last night was full of fail for me too, but the night before was rather good, 1 out of 2, not too bad.
Which could be description enough, but, basically...
Was looking forward to seeing Let's Wrestle play, but I've never seen a band who's wanted to be playing a gig less than they appeared. The worst part is that they were completely right to not want to be there. Bath is an absolute shit pile. The audience was largely populated by homeless people and the hideously drunk, who spent most of the time, not even heckling, just sort of, making noise.
Then we went to the pub next door and watched people deal drugs/sell prostitutes as security kept an eye out for them. AND there were loads of those posh kids that are everywhere in Bath. Slacks and flip flops and all that.
BUT got some chips on the way home, then watched some local A+E program and my mate pointed out there was someone I'd met in his most recent copy of Front, so, yeh, finished on a high.
I really dislike flip flops.
Bath ISN'T a small town though. And y'know, you want your homecity to be a little better than absolute turd, don't you? I'm an ambassador.
It's had so little coverage this year that I almost feel sorry for the contestants who are not even going to get to one single free celebrity party.
Indedpendence Day here. Going to a party/barbecue. I also want to see this mythical "the Point" that's supposed to be around here for fireworks time, maybe.
Thanksgiving, Independence day, Christmas?
and it's a toughie. I'm going to say Independence Day, cause it's luckily in the summer, with outdoor celebrations and more parties and stuff, whereas Thanksgiving is nice and all, but not as festive, maybe, and historically certainly not as important. But sometimes tastier.
my housemate lent me the first series of the wire on dvd so i'm working my way through that. probably watch a film or play playstation later, i dunno.
although not out of choice.
I'm currently in the process of performing cold water extraction on a load of co-codamol tablets I found in the bathroom cupboard the other day. Could be interesting.
it's a fairly straightforward process of extracting the codeine from the tablets. You just need two containers, a coffee filter, and hot and cold water. It's the first time I've done it, not sure how effective it will be but thought I'd give it a try for shits and giggles. I'm bored, ok?
I might watch TV or a film or read a book. I'll probably stay on here all night, though.
in a club sense, twee twats all elbows and plaid shirts, eurgh.
And read a bit of the Rip It Up And Start Again book. In the last chapter I learned that Malcolm McClaren is a massive pervert.
Also your mixtapecd arrived last week, cheers! I will resurrect that thread soon and pass some proper comment in a bit.
There's no semi when it comes to Malc. those films sound horrific! I'm quite surprised by a lot of what i've read so far, like that band/artgroup who did that sex/shit/bodily fluid exhibition at the ICA, they wouldn't have that these days.
Still the funniest part is the happy mondays story; jonny rotten, branson, nurses and drugs and no musical output.
Glad it arrived, thought i think it'll be a bit of a failure compared to yours. I've checked out a fair few of the bands as a result.
Which is always a winner. I had to go back to work a week early though so haven't listened to it properly properly yet.
The book is full of info! It's a bit of a shock how much is packed into it compared to other similar books. Richard Branson seems to just let people do whatever they want. Old hippy that he is.
it's an overload of info, it's almost too much. Admittedly it's been ongoing for a while i go through spells of reading a load and putting it down for a week or so. I bought his book on Dance music last week too, that's next on my reading list.
May finish season 1 of the Wire, and if I get that done I may watch Hellboy 2 for the first time,
Rock and roll huh?
so far it's got: a cartoon about wittgenstein, a cartoon about poor social housing and town planning, a non-addams family charles addams cartoon which i love so much, a recipe for pumpkin bread, All About Seaweed, a lyrics quiz/word search... it's shit.
