but I like it
Maybe it's better like this. Kinda a like an open floor.
there is nothing to discuss. i'm sure kik will have "loads" of things tho
that a few things actually happened yesterday/will happen today.
ancelottti's first day at work?
england players come home?
pre season chat is boring, tedious and annoying
A few deals will go through. Admittedly there isn't going to be a veritable circus of football happenings to pick over...
Will it make people be more proactive, or will they shy away from providing any information themselves? It can be like a social experiment, borne from the technical magnificence that is the DiS messageboard.
United buy Valencia (Antonio, not the club), BWFC sign Sean Davis on a 3-year deal.
A nice trip to Marlow or a less nice trip to Ilford awaits in the FA Cup for Hendon. Home to Lowestoft Town or Redbridge in the Trophy.
and we'll try and make sure someone who'll give you a DiS rate for entry is on the turnstiles.
It'll be even cheaper than for the Folkestone game you came to as well.
how much a season ticket for redbridge would cost, and how often i'd use it, or even if they exist
so who knows
including a programme for every game. No idea what the price from July onwards is though.
and it gives you almost all you need to know. You'll need to apply today though to get their special rate.
born in 1976. Would you believe it?
I also remember when he was good.
the one goal i saw him score beat chelsea which was nice
after playing for Newcastle.
Nothing. Well, not strictly nothing, we lost one of our best players. So 'minus something' might be more apt.
Come on someone, SIGN A FEW PLAYERS. Preferably two centre backs who'll score 15 goals each.
Unprecendented scenes. I'm installing Gresley as favourites for the entire competition now. Although a potentially tricky first round tie at 'Gedling MW or Grimsby Borough or Holbrook Miners Welfare' awaits.
Home tie in the Extra Prelim round Cup, which is good. Although having said that, they will probably be out before anyone realises the competition has even started again. That's always fun.
An enticing trip to Marlow or Ilford in the Cup 1st Qualifying Round along with the chance to host either Redbridge or Lowestoft Town in the Trophy.
Unfortunately a Lowestoft supporter decided to boycott us for reducing our admission prices for next season, so we won't benefit so much from their travelling hordes.
Is this just one supporter? He's boycotted you because you made it cheaper for him to get in? Whilst I admire putting your teams income before your own outgoings, fella needs to sort his life out a bit.
I didn't really understand it either, but never mind.
White shirts and grey shorts will be all a bit too much like Spurs for a lot of people.
They're the people who don't go to games but have an encyclopaedic knowledge of every single little thing that happens in a season so that when you say 'I support such-and-such' they can go 'Oh yeah, we beat you 3-1 at our place in August and it was 38 degrees out there and Dean Striker got one and Defendio did that great pass to Bumhunter and then there was that save from Julio Goalio who I think should be in the England team REMEMBER REMEMBER REMEMBER?'
The guys with NOTHING else to talk about apart from football.
I reckon I would, but thats my criteria on any football shirt
after losing rights to all their other football coverage. Nice to see Newcastle get the first 2 matches. Good work BBC.
Watching QPR on the telly?!
It's been a long, long time
i hope you're all sitting comfortably
do they still have any staff left?
if we are getting rid of Ronaldo, Tevez and Campbell i cant see us only bringing in Valencia and Dodo, who is just a second string defender.
i hope we get rid of a couple more. Macheda looks like he is better than Manucho in front of goal, so Manucho can go to Hull if Campbell goes elsewhere. doesn't look like Tosic will be much cop unfortunately but even without Ronaldo we have some quality on the wings.
bring back Alan Smith
i'm not convinced he'll make it with us, and i don't know if he's really a winger. but i think he could be a great little skillful creative player just behind the forwards.
douglas costa looks likely to me, even with his injury.
i'd like alexis sanchez too.
and another solid central midfielder. even one that isn't really very good, but likes a good tackle.
we're being linked with Cahill in the tabs? Not convinced about that one myself. Speaking of Everton, apparently Ferguson is looking at Jack Rodwell, but again I don't think that one's too likely.
Striker-wise, there's also more linkage with Benzema (would be nice, but again, unlikely), and with Gignac of Toulouse. No idea what he's like.
I wonder if we're more likely to see another winger come in, after Nani's poor season and Tosic still looking lightweight, with Rooney moving to the centre with Berbatov and the youngsters challenging them up-front. Should be an interesting season anyway.
it's a season where i'm expecting no trophies regardless of who we sell or sign. so anything else is a bonus.
i still like nani. think with a run in the team and some confidence he'll do really well. i think a couple of young talents is still likely though.
i'd love rodwell. i think he's going to be brilliant. but he'll benefit much more from playing games at everton than not making the bench with us.
gignac outscored benzema in the french league, but that's all i know. reputation wise i don't think he's in the same league though. and probably older.
i think at least one more striker's guaranteed though.
"-Pierre Gignac (age 23) currently at Toulouse (striker) - scored 24 goals last season to help them finish 4th - nominated for League Player of the Year (beaten by Gourcuff)"
his agent's now saying madrid.
we shall see.
has all the potential in the world too.
we'll see. i'm going to reserve judgement on how overpriced he is until i know who he's signed for.
i never wanted him.
and holding out at £24m - we've only got the bottomless pockets of Real Madrid to compete with after all. As much as I hate Franco CF surely everybody could see this coming a mile off. I'd like to imagine there's a plan B (as long as it's not Michael Owen) but I'm starting to doubt there is.
I look forward to Blatter and Platini's condemnation of Madrid's ridiculous spending, though.
I should point out I haven't really got my knickers in a twist about Madrid buying everyone because they can, but there always seems to be an agenda with Blatter in particular. Can't imagine he'd keep schtum if Utd, City or Chelsea were looking at throwing £200m at four players.
and the Gaurdian now values him at one million pounds.
Along with (at least) halving the value of most of our first team except Bassong.
Spurs are favourites to sign Bassong for about five big ones
but really ... the yellow stripes ... this thing ...
Particularly given the point about the silly salaries we've got these losers on. Reckon we could maybe squeeze about 6million out of somebody for Bassong if any kind of bidding war started off among the Europa League standard clubs. I'd like to see him stay, but as he's probably our most saleable asset (pretty much the only player to come out of last season with any credit) I reckon our chances are slim to none.
apparently he only made 23 appearances, a lot of those were as subs.
The few times I saw him play he seemed pretty solid, he'll be a good signing.
NUFC are so fucked.
he's the sort of player we'll need in the Championship. It's the failures and grandpas we need to be shipping out not the future-prospects, but with no manager and a large proportion of our none playing staff being made redundant we're not going to be able to make the changes and decisions we need in time to be ready for the start of the season and players who still have their careers ahead of them are going to want out.
Michael Owen to Blackburn?
Arjen Robben and Tim Cahill to Man Utd?
if you didn't review it for all of us.
Ridiculous optimism on both sides; Chelsea were never going to get £12m for the pair and Inter are having a bubble if they think £6m is enough. If Carvalho is a £10m player easily, even at his age, if he stays fit. That being a big ask, he's obviously worth less than that. But £3m? Piss off.
and given a further 12 weeks to pay the remainder of their debt - about £27k now. In some ways pretty generous since they've had two years so far, but on the other hand they have recently actually shown some intention to actually pay up... something that couldn't be said for a long time.
i dont understand it. does he just not like him or something?
i was thinking earlier, i can really think of a player i'd rather have up front than eto'o. villa runs him close definitely... but yeah.
