Was it me or did Ronan O'Gara look lost when he bumped into that guy who was hanging in mid-air?
but he really is a proper muppet. As soon as that high kick when up I remember thinking - there goes the series...
but it was a belter of a match..well the bits I saw on broken internet coverage anyway.
but I i honestly can't believe we lost both matches.
I know it's not really the done thing in rugby to complain about the refereeing, but in both matches it was questionable.
Burger should have been goneburger after the first few minutes, which would have changed everything. And I think you could make a case that the Saffas final try could just as easily have broken the other way - and the fact that the ref quite clearly thought his foot had gone out once the ruling came back from the TMO makes you wonder why he was so spineless in going upstairs anyway.
but that match really moved me...like...the power, the passion....all that crap. there was real beauty in those beasts....and when i was watching these men give it all...striding forth, peak of physical condition...the only footballer i could think of was jermaine defoe. made me hate the game a little more.
are always a load of old rubbish
I thought the ref was ok on the whole, apart from the Burger thing, but I doubt many refs would use the red card in the first minute.
ROG...well...he had critics before. plenty more now...deserves them too
Kearney - Very good
Fitzgerald - ok I spose but his defence positioning was appalling at crucial moments
Sheridan - What a punch!! You could see they were trying to get at him..well done Big ted
Shaw - He's a 1 immense game in 3 man...and this was it
POC - absent
Heaslip - Much better
Wallace - Better
Croft - wasn't last weeks performance but England's next captain he shall be
um BOD - I think he's better when he's not being wound up, and he was really wound up. Think Roberts suffered for this as well.
Bowe had little or nothing to do.
Although the decision to defend the lead instead of trying to improve on it must have had something to do with them?
but it just seemed like the injuries cost them...when jones and odrscoll went off injured, it felt like the bite of the team went a bit...especially with the scrums being uncontested......then o gara bottling it with the tackle for the try and then the penalty....dunno.....couldn't see much tactically that they could have done different...just one of those things when a few 50/50 things don't go the right way.
But the bench of a lions tour should be full of adequate replacements. Sheridan did well but no doubt the uncontested scrums were a bit of a bummer as it's a good way to tire out the opposition.
But clearly Flutey should have been on the bench as well as Hook.
I can't remember the last time I saw a team get through that many injury subs in a game. It certainly didn't help them, that's for sure. There must have been at least 4 people playing out of position by games end
I think Sheridan and Big John Hayes will be holding up the scrum...think mears or murray should have a go as, I still think Rees is Shit, high tackles, iffy lineouts..useless in the loose
