Screw Iceberg, I think a round lettuce is way better.
I decided to chance my arm on a British Round Lettuce at the supermarket the other day. SO much nicer in a salad or on a cheese sandwich. I heartily recommend you move away from the Iceberg lettuce.
Also, I discovered there is a British Leafy Salad Association, proving there's an website for every half-baked loony.

And also cheaper...
Half-baked you say?

Little Gem FTW
Iceberg is the scumbags' lettuce.
Only useful for its crispiness.
an website?
Oh FFS! :(
Lettuce is Lettuce
as my dear old grandmother whispered on her death bed.
Iceberg lettuce is easily the worst of all salad leaves.
It's bland and tastless. Every other kind of lettuce is better.
I prefer the one used in Caesar salads but have forgotten the name of it. I'd wager the word heart appears somewhere though.
Heart of Romaine
but it's just cos really.
ah man all this hate for iceberg is a bit unfair
it's wonderfully crispy and great in a simple salad where you've got lots of dressing. and if the purpose of salad isn't to have lots of dressing, then i just don't want to know about salad
