Anyone done this? It would be MENTAL, right?
yes, man, yes it would. srsly. why even?
I was desperate to go but my friends are all dicks so I went alone. Found a bunch of other loners on the internets and camped with them, had a jolly time. Do it, it's great, I thought it would suck but there's a lot to be said for it.
Which festival are you thinking of?
But I'll probably pop over and say hi at some point, I'll illegally buy you a pint of beer. I'm Jack on the Latitude Forums btw.
It was by 'the big tree' which is surprisingly easy to find, considering the level of detail in its title.
I was smashed though and can hardly remember it.
It's big and tree-like, and easy to find.
as long as you haven't busted your ankle
because I loved it so much last year, may volunter to be a steward because id feel slightly less pathetic not paying for the ordeal
but it was practically on my own, he isn't very responsive
i ended up getting so bored by 3pm i was sat outside the 99p store and pound land in town drinking a warm can of carlsberg, waiting to finnish it and get 4 cans of unknown energy drink for 99p ad taking a drizzle in burger king out of principle.
it would suck if you knew no one, but if you can make friends, it'd be cool.
it was fun. i did it at primavera last year too. i normally find it pretty easy to make friends with strangers at these places which is great but i'm just as happy sat on my own watching the music or reading a book when there's nowt going on. i'm tempted to green man it alone this year too if my buddy can't afford to go, although another friend has organised his stag doo in leeds on the same weekend, so who knows.
Festivals have their highs and lows and I think you need someone you've known a while to guide you through that. Also, if you found you couldn't make any friends, and everyone else was being all LOUD RAAHHHHH you would feel very lonely indeed.
I don't think the wandering around and watching the bands bit would be that bad because I do that a lot at festivals anyway, but I wouldn't like to sit all alone in a tent of a night. NO WAY
but it looks pretty awesome so maybe everything will outweigh the loneliness. and there's a MOUNTAIN there right? this is what you've always wanted!
I want to go to one just for this, waking up in a tent though is the worst type of waking up
I curl up in a ball right in the middle of the tent in case people fall on me which they often do.
and last year these MENTALS were playing with a MASSIVE candle right outside my tent and I had an image of my tent just bursting into flames and I thought I was going to die right there right then
like a camping home alone, I was gonna suggest trip wire but that would probably make things worse. Guess it depends on the festival though, beardy festival campsights tend to be quite quiet, a friend of a friend was set on fire at an atp once just goes to show you dont need a tent to catch fire
and so far none of friends want to do this, so if you're up for that you can come with meeeeeeeeeeeee!
I know several people going, either working, housemates, work colleauges but not GOING with anyone, looks like I could be camping alone :'(
