Whats a nice summery dessert that's not too complex/time-consuming to make? Got any recipes?
Get some strawberries, double cream and ready made meringues
Whip the double cream up, mash up a few strawberries and then add this to the cream, mix it all together, break up some meringue and chuck it in the mix. Pour into a bowl and chuck the remaining strawberries on top.
But I need to make one that looks good too, this, as the name suggests, will look like a mess.
This would have been my suggestion. Go for it.
whacksiddy - you could also do a chocolatey version of this using chocolate suace, bits ohbroken up chocolate, marshmallow and anything else you can think of you could make a banofee style one or a coconuty one. eton mess = the sex
but you have to be really good at making meringue! so its all crunchy and crumbly on the outside and cheewy inside mmmmm
If you mashed up some hobnobs and added syrup and butter and sugar and then cooked it?

I also put raspberries in mine, I whizz them in a blender with the strawberries, and sometimes some caster sugar (you can add booze also).
But also keep some un-whizzed so you can throw in lots of nice big chunks.
Shouldn't say you "whiz" food; "whiz" means pee.
but i just made chocolate cake to be eaten with raspberries.
I think I'm going to make a lemon tart and put some summer fruits on the side coz I can make most of it in advance. I haven't forgotten about your mixtape, I just need to write the tracklist down and it should be ready...

for am I am an excellent cook. Just not so big on desserts.
Keep it in the fridge for awhile before and it'll be cool and refreshing.
