album cover computer artwork advice / help required

dan_thw [Edit] [Delete] 21:15, 11 June '09

Right so I'm just doing the front cover for my band's album, but I am a complete stupid when it comes to art and computers and stuff. Basically we want to take a photo of something, then superimpose it without the outer bits of the photograph onto a white background - it's gonna be a white glossy digipack. Examples of what I mean :

Can anyone tell me how I can do this? I don't mean PHYSICALLY do it - the factory will do that, but so I can get it on a screen, looking like the above.
