i mowed the lawn, but that wasnt manual work really
right, she was always there to lay the foundation stones, but you never saw her doing any heavy structural work on the buildings
i ended up temping, but work was not forthcoming to start with. in order to make rent, i spent a week working in a warehouse, testing flourescent lightbulbs. it was 0% fun. the chargy thing i had to use to make the bulbs glow smelt horrible, i was surrounded by petty criminals and 17 year old fathers and it paid £5.50/hr. fuck you, enfield.
when i did temping in the summer. I worked on a production line for molton brown. Most of the time i was taking lids out of boxes and screwing them onto bottles as they went past. Occassionally i got to leave the production line and fold up boxes or stick stickers on the ends of mascaras for a couple of hours. Oh what a treat.
i stuck it out for two weeks.
involved climbing a ladder cutting open a bag of plastic pellets into a bigger bag then back down the ladder then back up.got to use guillotines though which were fun, cutting random items in two when we werent being watched
for real with an axe and everything. but dad was supervising in case i got 'silly'.
we are storing it up for next winter!
if he wasnt around you could have got silly and cut your leg off
thats my new favorite phrase "get silly" its a gem. can i have permission to use it?
have you not heard that before??
well i have heard the two words seperately but not combined to imply fucking yourself up
I quite enjoyed it, and the money was good at times.
my entire body was broken for several weeks, no exaggeration. that shit was heavier than the hammer of thor.
i quite enjoy humping shit about for a while. beats sitting and staring at a computer screen all day.
if sound I did that part time for around 5/6 months of this year, I was rubbish at it.
I should probably go to bed.
