I nearly walked out about a third of the way through. There'd been a couple of little gag but all the jump scares and loud (very loud) noises made me think I'd walked into a pretty formulaic craftless modern horror film.
Okay, so Raimi built the tension up to the jumps way way better than anyone else recently but relying so heavily on jumps is still shit.

I'm not sure at which point I changed my mind but about half way/two thirds the way through the physical gags start coming in, jokes start up and it gets good, really good. So good that the last third makes me want to give it 8/10 not just 6/10.

Anyone else think the boyfriend was basically Ross Geller?

and of course I fancy Alison Lohman more by the movie, as if she's 30 in real life.
