i'm eating an apple turnover.
list some other good pastries.
but after having had one, i can confirm they are fantastic
They are so righteous.
Maple and pecan plaits are sexalicious.
sounds amazing. basically, stick plaits on the end of anything and i'll consume it.
The kings of pastry, maybe.
does strudel count? if so apple
those jammy lattice things
maple and pecan plaits
simple but amazing!
What makes a cheesecake Chelsea? What makes a cheesecake a pastry?
yes they did.
If so, cherry, apple and blueberry pies = tops.
unless its a fruit tart
Plum dumplings are so, so, so, so delicious.
baked until they're juicy hot and then topped with breadcrumbs (I prefer them without the crumbs, actually) and you put a bit of sugar on them and they're the best fruit dumpling ever.
the ones in fresh and wild are amazing.
i'm not that impressed.
I've tried them everywhere I've seen them over the last two months and I can safely say, fresh and wild's are the best. Closely followed by Angel Foods (Spitalfields market on Thurs and Fri, Borough on Saturday).
and i could never shop somewhere that sounds like a porn movie
TARTE AUX FRAISES ET MURES
I got an amazing recipe for a strawberry tart from my frenchies, but I add blackberries to it.
although I know tescos mark everything with "Goes great with tea" as a marketing trick, they really do. Also seconding maple and pecan plaits or indeed any kind of danish pastry aside from those custard ones.
could people please stop listing things that aren't pastries? cheesecake infuckingdeed.
aka those ones that are a flat pastry with a round ring of jam in the centre
If we're being strict about our pastries here I'm going to have to stick with the humble danish I think. Danish, danish, danish. Danish!
Although if not, I'm pretty gay for those big cinnamon bun things (CINNABON), because they're sort of like a danish tailored for the morbidly obese.
