Claiming back bank charges

building_downtown [Edit] [Delete] 12:04, 3 June '09

So I know it was careless to let my account go overdrawn, so I don't need to be told that... and this is the first time I've done this.

I went overdrawn by £10 in my current account, and the letter informing me of this was sent to a house that I no longer live at. After being redirected (ten days later), I find out that I am being charged £5 for every day I don't pay enough money in.

My question is, do I legally have to pay the £50 I am being charged? This seems riduculous for just £10. I'm sure I heard that 'Money Saving Martin' off the telly say something about being able to refuse to pay.

Fifty quid is a lot of money to me at the moment, so any help is appreciated..
