not happening like, but this is the stuff my dreams are made of.
...in terms of minutes. Sure he'd start more, but he's almost guaranteed a couple of months out a season due to his dodgy knees. Still a class player against the lesser teams, which of course there are many in the Premiership.
he's always said he'd only play for Oldham if he left Man Utd.
plus I wouldnt get too excited about him going to Bolton, he hasnt actually been any good for the past two/three seasons.
...this year at home against Fulham was a masterclass.
at Bolton he'd look like Hierro did when he was hear (quite possibly the most gifted player to put on the famous white shirt).
but we'd only ever offer the Ginger Prince 1 year, tops. Plus, we have a better track record with major coups than you seem to... :)
but signing someone like Scholes is only for the "experience factor", which didnt work for Newcastle with Butt at all.
Maybe with this season excluded.
for a year. He came back, had a good year and a half against all the odds, then returned to being average/poor, with the odd decent game....
we've bought, in the main, fairly young players. Someone like Scholes would be useful for a year to sheperd them a wee bit. If it doesn't work then hey, we say thanks but bye at end of the year.
I don't know how well Scholes would do in a team that hace to fight for posession and which would be less dominant in the middle
I don't think he's had it for a while.
...like Gerrard regularly does.
@ KiK - Pretty much agreed. I'm not sure Giggs has it any more at the highest level. He's good in patches, but I think there's too many limitations to his game now. Sure, great vision and can read the game but he has no right foot and his passing is probably the worst in our midfield for giving the ball away.
Neville is too slow to compete at the highest level, with Rafael, JOS and Wesley all ahead of him in my opinion. I think all three of them - if they continue - will be like Robson did in 1993/4.
