I was coming home from a nice night out just now when, as I approached the intersection nearest my place, a man out walking his dog crossed my path. He offered a greeting and continued on his way to the garbage can by that corner, where he stopped and knowingly lifted up the inner can out of the outer shell. About eight rats scurried out in all directions, and his dog went nuts. I won't describe what I witnessed next, but suffice it to say: I really hate Uptown. I'm getting out when my lease is up, lest I become one of the batshit residents. Do you like your neighborhood? Whywhynotetcetera? Do you think you'll live there forever?
