"Laura started work at 17 and had set up her first business by the time she was 19. Subsequently she has set up and sold two small companies that specialised in campaigning, communications and marketing. She has campaigned for better care for the elderly; support for those suffering from Motor Neurone Disease; better energy regulation and for less regulation for small businesses.
Through her work on international human rights she campaigned against Saddam Hussein’s extreme human rights abuses and as a research associated at the Centre for Defence Studies, she worked with the Ministry of Defence during the war in Iraq.
Laura is an active volunteer and is Deputy Chairman of the Civic Trust that represents the civic societies across the country. She is a Trustee of Open University one of Britain’s great institutions and she is also Chairman of openDemocracy.
She lives in Ramsgate with her partner Randolph Kent."
I want to punch her.
