I mean, I don't even like On The Road and I know it was really a horrible, racist, poverty ridden and generally fucked up place. But when you listen to Dylan or read those sweeping American books or whatever, don't you jsut LONG for endless summer and travelling from town to town on greyhound buses and falling in and out of love and you know, jsut living in them songs or words or idealised atmospheres?
