What are some non-lame solutions to this issue?
oh right, you said non-lame.
My thanks for clearing that up so early. Ideally I'd like not to look like a granny.
then people will be too scared to come near you and potentially damage your specs
I would imagine that you have thought of contact lenses...
I'd love a pair of Davids. No idea where to get them from though. And I probably couldn't justify the cost of custom made ones (I am proper blind without glasses).
I used to wear lenses, but they didn't really agree with me for day to day use. I'd consider dailies though if they weren't too expensive. Any idea of the cost?
not sure how much they are without a regular DD though.
That sounds reasonable, actually. I'll check them out. The ideal would be if they could just sell you a one-off pack of six or whatever then I could just have them around for the odd kickabout or metal gig.
I'd consider getting contacts for exactly the same reasons.
Seeing you lowbowing while holding your glasses on is one of life's great pleasures, if you ask me.
Then seeing me scrabble on the ground blindly looking for specs that have flown off my face after heading footballs or enjoying brutality (and dying inside) must be a rare ecstasy.
Dennis Taylor specs anyone?
"Prescription snooker glasses from Spex4less provide clear table top performance to give you back that killer edge and defeat even your toughest competitors"
I wonder if they do warfare specs?
"Do you need 20/20 vision for your killing spree?"
I'm not clever enough to be a geek. I'm just disabled. And government guidelines clearly state that the disabled should be encouraged to play sport like, all the time.
or non-contact lenses, depending on the sport...
10 points to you, sir.
and blame everything you do wrong on the fact you're not wearing them
I shall now make it my duty to find out what he wears whilst playing.
£5 per month and you can order whenever youse like. barginous!
That looks great, thanks.
...now, how the hell do I find out my prescription without having to pay for another eye-test. And why do I keep losing that sheet of paper?
unless things have changed recently. They won't send you anything without it. That's why it is sometimes cheaper and more convenient to be on a plan - they also give you reduced rates on specs.
Result! Apparently I do. Seems like someone should have told me that before today though...
^Pretty much this. Only it didn't matter how I played because my school's Rugby team didn't actually know the rules of the game and frequently got pasted.
Seemed to work last time
I'll be honest, I enjoy the look of indignation on your face as you roll over the touchline. I'm thinking of switching to left back on Monday so I can continue our campaign.
I play left-mid though.
Oh. Fuck it then. Mid-field = constant running.
I could do with some contacts for football and would be up for splitting an order.
