Hitting someone in the face with a flan is hilarious, while doing the same with a quishe is merely mildly comic.
It's illegal for a man to eat quiche. Just like it's illegal for two men to share an umbrella.
I thought he was second in line behind Creakyknees for prolixity
There's another guy who posts as theguywithn0username who does most of the long posts.
You can't put her in a flan.
truly cunting abominal
That is Daily Star standard punmanship.
This shit is gold. You're all idiots.
Quiche - generally savoury.
A flan is a dessert. It's a creme caramel type dealio, made with custard with sugary syrup poured all over it. Unlike a creme brulee, you don't harden the sugar on top.
A quiche is also made with a kind of egg/custard thing, but is savoury. It's like a pizza meeting a cake.
Like goat's cheese and onion flan, the standard vegetarian starter at any kind of function or do.
Is the answer something to do with eggs?
Theo gives the correct answer up there somewhere!
I'm worryingly defensive about this.
we ain't in the US. In the UK we have a savoury flan which is EXACTLY the same as a quiche.
In Belgium they can be savoury too, didn't know it was like that in the UK as well.
I apologise for my flan-rage.
Flan also applies to sponge based affairs with fruit on top.
They were a popular dessert in the eighties, my mam used to make a wicked mixed fruit flan, mmm topped with evaporated milk..
quichnel. Fuck's sake.
used to pronounce quiche - keetch. cheers.
circle, but the flan circle would extend beyond the quiche circle, i.e. a quiches are a subset of flans, if I would be correct in assuming that quiches are various but all have a set egg or eggy custard filling, withing a pastry case, whereas a flan can have non eggy filling which whilst often in a pastry case, need not be, sometimes it can be within a sponge case for instance (fruit flans)
^Trut So Pure.
Lest any of this grim punnery leak out into real life
BUT YOU CAN ALSO GET SAVOURY FLANS?!?!?! FLAN A LA BIERE AND STUFF!
La quiche est une tarte salée garnie de migaine.
But rly, is it not something to do with pastry? A flan doesn't generally have any pastry. If that recipe up there includes pastry, the writer of said cookery piece is probably a totally wanny and/or trying to get people to think his awful food is something more exciting than a quiche.
Basically: Mark Hix is DOIN IT WRONG.
Good work Hawkins, I was lacking lunch inspiration before this thread !
