itbox banter

wrightylew [Edit] [Delete] 32 replies 18:20, 19 May '09

Ok, let's talk about itboxes. I'm pretty addicted so I should enjoy it.

Best games, in terms of returns:

- Deal Or No Deal (NOT Big Reds!)
- Pub Quiz
- Play Your Cards Right - just discovered

Evil ones:

- Bullseye
- Monopoly - I hate it
- 1 vs 100 - EVIL. The answer tabs are so small you always hit the wrong ones.

Biggest win for me = £6. £4.50 on DonD and then £1.50 on the Big Reds.

  • best ones for me

    monopoly
    fantasy football
    pub quiz

    in no order

  • I don't play anything but Nuts as it's so frickin' easy.

I've won almost as many times as I've lost, it's quite literally...

    • We usually end up pretty even by the end of the night.

Biggest wins have been £20 several times on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and Weakest Link.

    • 1 vs 100 is great!

I've won so many times, usually seem to win a tenner or twenty too. It's the only one I play now, I reckon I've made £70/80 from it and spent about a fiver.

    • Mike Read's Pop Quiz

Absolutely bossed it - I put in 50p once, got 8 quid out of it. Loads of people saw us do it, had a go, and predictably (because it makes the questions/prizes harder to get) won nothing. 10 minutes later we went back, put in £1, and got out another fiver. Not bad.

honorable mention: Deal or no deal. Sometimes just throws money at you..

      • I once won £20 on the pepsi chart quiz

Answering three questions. It must have been overflowing or something

    • Pub Quiz is good cause you usually get at least your stake back...

BIG fan of DOND - won £20 once!

And Nuts is always welcome, its quite easy win.

Every Loser Wins is probably the hardest game in the world to win at.

        • Nuts is the nuts

sexy ladies, easy questions (although could do without the ones where you have to remember 80s tv stars) and a very winnabble denouement, especially if you're as possessed by the rhythm as myself.

Pub Quiz is a classic, as is Hex Appeal. That is, until they start pumping out the impossible questions - tip for you here kids: never put a 2 pound coin in there. It can SMELL the disposable income, and will reap duly

        • I will never forget on one of the guess the missing letters type games

having to clue "English Football club" and the answer being Leigh RMI

          RockNRollMassacre | 19 May '09, 20:20 | X
        • Yeah, Cluedo's pretty good.

Or, at least it used to be. In the past I could reliably get one or two quid if I stuck at it, so I'd at least cancel my losses, but recently they've massively increased the difficulty to make sure that you don't get landing on too many rooms...

        • Pub Quiz rules

tho surely one of the ugliest things ever made. So much comic sans.
Hangman is also pretty winnable. Best ever score was £20 on Millionaire.

        • Greatest itbox moment ever for me was a christmas eve a couple of years ago

I was playing the old version of cluedo, and you know when you get the 4 options moving around the screen, well one of them simply said '£10'.

I'm a sucker for deal or no deal. Favourite moment on that is needing 100,000 points and getting exactly that to get on the prize board.

Favourite game is monopoly though, preferred the older version where you could get the golden dog. The 50p monopoly isn't on enough machines either.

          djodell | 19 May '09, 22:57 | X
          • Oh my god. The mystical Golden Dog!

It used to get all the bar staff in the Head Of Steam running over if someone got that.

            marckee @djodell | 20 May '09, 00:28 | X
        • Pub Quiz.

          Banker mate, fucking banker.

        • ITBOX's are amazing

i win all the time, good games:

          South Park
          Pints Make Prizes
          Deal or no Deal
          The Moneycomb
          Hex
          Paparazzi/Stars in their Eyes
          Nuts

These are all pretty good for winning money.

Worst game ever: Spot the Difference

        • Deal or No Deal or GTFO

Have twice won £20 on it from my strategy of "NO DEAL"

Won a tenner on Pub Quiz a couple of weeks back, that was cool.

It's easy to win a quid on trivial pursuit meaning you can keep playing it for ages.

You know what I hate? People who haven't paid in shouting bullshit at you. WHERE'S YOUR 50p MATE

          LordLuciusBanter | 20 May '09, 11:18 | X
          • I can't stand Deal Or No Deal.

I'm a Bullseye man. Love it. Pub Quiz or Pints Win Prizes if I'm after some easy cash.
