Truly brilliant, I thought. I'd be very surprised if I see a better film this year. Even better than Crank 2.
It has flaws: too long, loses its way a little before the climax and Philip Seymour Hoffman plays the same role again (brilliantly though). It is also the most depressing film I've seen in years. But the imagination and detail throughout puts most other films and film-makers to shame.
I thought it was much better than any other of his films too. Interested to see where he can go from here.
